Hypothalamic Inflammation and Hypothalamic Obesity: Case Report and Mini-Review

چکیده
Context: Autoimmune hypothalamitis (AHT) is extremely rare and appears on the Magnetic resonance Imaging (MRI) as a predominant suprasellar mass. There are only few case reports of AHT in literature none was presented together with hypothalamic obesity (HO). Methods prediction hypothalamus (HT) damage included pathogenesis HO. Case description: A 19-year-old female operated transcranial operation due to large mass symptoms visual deficiencies headache. The diagnosis confirmed specimen lymphocyte-dominated infiltration plasma cells, neutrophils fibrocytes. reduced further reduction accomplished by long-term oral Prednisone. Directly after she suffered from which worsened introduction Prednisone treatment. During treatment inflammation improvement vision recorded. She treated glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist Metformin for her diabetes mellitus type II supplementations pituitary insufficiencies. patient exhibits dramatic weight while strict caloric diet at two follow-up occasions. However, this effect reversed once had stopped calorie restricted diet. Conclusion: coexistence HO difficult treat former involves Pharmacological intervention has limited weight, but extreme successful, however short endurance.

introduction rapid-onset obesity with hypoventilation, hypothalamic dysfunction, and autonomic dysregulation (rohhad) is a rare disease. to date, there have been only few reported cases of rohhad syndrome. conclusions only a few case reports have described rohhad syndrome, and it is therefore difficult to manage. in children with rapid and early-onset obesity associated with hypothalamic-pituit...
متن کاملVENTROMEDIAL HYPOTHALAMIC NUCLEI AND FEEDING BEHAVIOR
The role of the ventromedial nuclei of the hypothalamus (VMN) in food behavior was studied in adult male rats, allocated in 3 groups: control, sham and lesioned. Electrolytic lesions were induced stereotaxically (1.2 mA, 15 sec). Results revealed a significant decrease (p<O.05) in body weight (BW) and food intake (FI) in the order of lesioned <sham <control during the fIrst week. However, ...

متن کامل[Hypothalamic dysfunction in obesity].
Obesity, defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair life quality, is one of the major public health problems worldwide. It results from an imbalance between food intake and energy expenditure. The control of energy balance in animals and humans is performed by the central nervous system (CNS) by means of neuroendocrine connections, in which circulating peripheral hormones...
